Ben Van Laan is a Certified Public Accountant and Audit & Assurance Partner at Deloitte, where he has spent more than 18 years advising organizations on financial reporting, governance, and risk management. As the son of a public school educator and coach, he developed an early appreciation for the impact of public education and the importance of equitable opportunities for students.

Ben and his wife, Nicole, live in Evanston with their three children, who attend Dewey Elementary School. He enjoys coaching youth sports and spending time with his family.
