Kindergarten Library Tours

Foundation 65 Kindergarten Tours Program

Foundation 65 Kindergarten ToursSince 2007, F65 has partnered with the Evanston Public Library to provide funding for all District 65 kindergarteners to visit the Evanston Public Library and get a library card.  The goal of Kindergarten Library Tours is to introduce and orient children and their families to the library and its staff in order to establish a foundation of comfort and familiarity with what the library has to offer.

More than half of all kindergartners enrolled in District 65 receive their first library card and/or visit the public library for the first time through this program.  The program encourages parents to continue to bring their children back to the library to take advantage of the collection and programs in support of literacy and the District 65 curriculum.
